MHS grads receive
St. Luke scholarships

Marion High School graduates Kourtney Hansen and Austin Neufeld each received $1,000 scholarships last week from St. Luke Hospital and the hospital auxiliary.

St. Luke Foundation manager Roger Schroeder announced scholarship winners at an auxiliary luncheon Thursday at St. Luke Medical Clinic.

Kourtney is a certified nursing assistant at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. She plans to attend Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, where she will play volleyball while working toward a nursing degree. Andy and Stacey Hansen are her parents.

Austin plans to attend Nebraska Wesleyan University this fall, where he will play football and study biology in preparation for obtaining a medical degree. He is interested in becoming an orthopedic surgeon or a radiologist. Darin and Jana Neufeld are his parents.

The auxiliary contributed $1,250, and the hospital contributed $750 toward the scholarships.
