Marion-Florence FFA hands out honors at banquet

Marion-Florence FFA members, parents, and employer supporters were recognized at the chapter’s annual banquet at Marion High School on April 27.

Cade Harms was recognized as chapter Star Farmer, Kaitlyn Goebel received the chapter Start in Placement award, and Cassie Meyer was recognized as chapter Star Greenhand in production.

Winners of chapter proficiency awards winners were:

Jeremy Hett, agriculture service; Cade Harms, beef production, entrepreneurship; Caleb Hett, diversified crop production, placement; Carley Stapleford, diversified horticulture, placement; Zane Slater, equine science and forestry; Antone Vinduska, forage production; Jarret McLinden, ag mechanics design and fabrication, placement; and Kaitlyn Goebel, small animal production, entrepreneurship, and veterinary science, placement.

Businesses and individuals recognized with certificates of appreciation were Prairieland Partners, Inc., Tod Gordon, Hillsboro Industries, Don Molleker, Cooperative Grain and Supply, Eileen Schmidt, Salem Cairns, Carlsons’ Grocery, Allen and Jenny Stapleford, Chuck and Lori McLinden, Allan Hett, and Gambino’s Pizza.

Jennifer Roland and Valerie Goebel were named honorary chapter FFA degree recipients, and Raleigh Kroupa was recognized for receiving the American Farmer degree at the past National FFA Convention

State FFA President and former chapter member Elizabeth Meyer spoke to approximately 120 members and guests in attendance.
