To commemorate its 30th year, Lincolnville Octoberfest will celebrate Oct. 1 with the theme, “Back to the 80s.”

The parade will begin at 11 a.m. on Main St. To enter, participants are asked to call Barb Kaiser at (620) 924-5287 or email BarbKaiser@hotmail.com.

Most activities will be in the park, beginning with entertainment by Maurice Pritz at 9:30 a.m. A fun run will begin at 8 a.m. on Main St.

Little Apple Amusements and arts and crafts vendors will be on hand. Those desiring a booth are asked to contact Cris Peterson at (785) 561-0144.

A prince and princess contest will be in the morning, and entrants will ride in the parade.

Lunch will be available at the community building, along with several concession booths.

A new event this year will be a corn hole tournament for various ages in teams of two. There will be an entry fee, with 50 percent of the proceeds going to winners.

Clues for a medallion hunt will be given every hour on the hour beginning at noon, and hourly prizes will be awarded.

Two Christian bluegrass bands will perform during the afternoon: Freedom 724 of Herington and Rustic Cross of Abilene. John Richards, a vocalist/guitarist also will perform

Dino O’Dell, a former teacher who creates education music and stories will provide entertainment for children.

A blue rock shoot will be at the north end of town.

A beer garden at the community building will open at 5 p.m. The day will conclude with an “appreciation dance,” free of charge. Lizard Skin of Talmadge will be the disc jockey. Hot dogs and chips will be available.
