Lewis, Vinduska receive American FFA degrees

Kevin Lewis and Kristin Vinduska, members of the Centre FFA chapter, received American FFA degrees during the National FFA Convention Oct. 25 to 28 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

They each received a gold American FFA Degree key and certificate after being recognized on stage.

To be eligible, they earned and productively invested $10,000 through a supervised agricultural experience. Kevin, a 2014 graduate, was employed by Shields Farms. Kristin, a 2016 graduate, raised crops and mowed lawns. They demonstrated outstanding leadership abilities and were involved in community activities.

Others attending the convention were Montana Hayes, Cecilia Rziha, Cailey Barney, Grace Knepp, Emma David, Cameron Spohn, Dillon Knepp, Lacey Wingerd, Dakota Gardner, Zach Barney, Tyler Nickel, Payton Harms, Cole Srajer, Elias Jirak, Kansas State University student teaching intern Matthew Anguiano, and advisers Laura Klenda and Jon Meyer.

Members heard retiring addresses from national officers, witnessed accomplishments of many FFA members and supporters, heard performances by the National FFA band and chorus, heard keynote speakers, and attended leadership workshops.

They also toured the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Ozark Fisheries in Martinsville, Indiana, and the St. Louis Arch, and visited the FFA Bench in downtown Kansas City.
