Lee Roy Palmer

A service for retired public school employee and Army veteran Lee Roy Palmer, who died Aug. 1, was Sunday at Community of Christ Church, Chapel for Peace, Springfield, Missouri.

Burial will be later in Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.

Born May 7, 1928, in Springfield, to Elmer and Minnie Palmer, he married Shirley Stenzel of Marion on March 2, 1955, and managed the Kaw Theater in Marion for several years.

He was a member of Community of Christ Church, Chapel for Peace, and was pastor of Brentwood Hills and Westport Church in Springfield.

His parents and sister Martha preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley, and two daughters, Linda and Brenda, all of Springfield; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Outreach International, 129 W. Lexington Ave., Independence MO 64050.
