Ladies Night brings 'lots of good times'

Staff writer

‘Tis the season to go shopping, and Marion women got a jump start Nov. 23 with an evening just for them.

Ace Hardware staged its second Ladies Night, and owner Kent Carmichael said that the turnout was good.

“There was a lot of newbies,” Carmichael said. “People that had never been to a Ladies Night showed up.”

Women were treated to special sales, prizes, and cheese balls made by Larry Altis, along with smoked cheese and hot cider.

Prizes included a sprayer valued at $150, won by Rhonda Hett, and two $50 gift certificates, one for Carlsons’ Grocery and one for Lanning Pharmacy.

A Christmas ornament won by one woman contained $100.

Overall, Carmichael said the night was a success.

“It surpassed our wildest dreams,” Carmichael said. “We had lots and lots and lots of fun. There was lots of giggling and lots of good times.”
