Labor Day to feature Frisbee golf

A new event, a Frisbee golf tournament Sept. 2, will be included in the 80th annual Florence Labor Day celebration.

The two-man event will start at 8 a.m. at the Frisbee golf course on 8th St.

Entry fee is $10 per team. Early registration is accepted by John Banson at (316) 993-3463

Early registration also is encouraged for the Rumpshaker at the Nation’s Crossroads a five-kilometer and 1-mile fun run at 8 a.m. Sept. 4.

Registrations are being accepted at Cottonwood Valley Bank and by emailing r2zook@aol.com.

Events Sept 2, 3, and 4 will include a citywide garage sale, an 1860s vintage baseball game, watermelon seed-spitting contest, fireworks , a parade, mutton busting, FFA Barnyard Olympics, and kids’ games.
