Kurt Richmond

Kurt L. Richmond, 73, of Aledo, Illinois, died Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Valhaven Care and Rehab Center in Valley, Nebraska. Funeral services are 7 p.m. Thursday, March 22, 2018, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Aledo. Private interment will be Friday in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday prior to services at the church where memorials may be left to Messiah Lutheran Church.

Kurt was born Jan. 8, 1945, to Jess and Martha Madsen Richmond in Hillsboro, Kansas. He attended elementary school in Park City, Kansas, and graduated from high school in Roswell, New Mexico. On April 3, 1982, he was united in marriage to Judith A. Nelson in Preemption, Illinois. Judy died Jan. 13, 2004.

Kurt was employed as a tool and die maker for John Deere Harvester Works in East Moline, Illinois.

His memberships include Messiah Lutheran Church, UAW Local 865, and Aledo Exchange Club. He attended Via De Cristo and enjoyed being a member of the Fans in the Stands.

He is survived by three sons, Loren Richmond of Oconto, Wisconsin, Ryan Richmond and wife, Becky, of Lakeland, Florida, and Jeff Richmond and wife, Jill, of Elkhorn, Nebraska; four grandchildren; and two sisters, Reta Myers of Mineola, Texas, and Connie Stephens of Council Grove, Kansas.

His parents, stepmother Irene, and his wife, Judy, preceded him in death.
