KSU program targets declining farm income

Farmers struggling to cope with the effects of low commodity and livestock prices can learn tips for dealing with working capital, debt, maintenance, and expenses by attending an upcoming Kansas State University workshop.

“Top 10 Considerations to Navigate a Struggling Farm Economy” is designed to help producers think critically about how their farms might withstand tough times. Each topic will provide a framework to evaluate options and opportunities.

Eight daylong workshops are planned across the state, including a session Jan. 18 in Salina and Feb. 15 in El Dorado.

Presenters include K-State faculty and staff and Kansas Farm Management Association economists.

Registration is required at least eight days prior to a chosen presentation. Call (785) 392-2147 to register for the Salina event; call (316) 321-9660 to register for the El Dorado session.

A program brochure and complete list of sites, dates, and registration information is available online at www.agmanager.info/events/top-10-considerations-navigate-struggling-farm-economy.
