Mr. and Mrs. Duane and Lori Kirkpatrick of Marion and Mr. and Mrs. Steve and Theresa Whalen of Abilene announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, Matthew Ryan Kirkpatrick and Danielle Kaye Acker.

The bride-to-be is the daughter of the late Daniel Acker, and is a graduate of Chapman High School.

She works in commercial service support and is a personal banker at First Bank Kansas.

The groom-elect is a graduate of Marion High School and Kansas State University, and works as an agronomist and farm manager for Ingermanson Farms.

The couple plans to wed April 22 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Florence.
