Julia Regier

A private graveside service at the Alexanderwohl Church cemetery, rural Goessel, is planned for Julia F. (Schmidt) Regier, 92, who died Monday at Bethesda Home, Goessel.

Born March 7, 1928, to Otto “Nick” and Susie Schmidt, she was baptized at Tabor Mennonite Church, rural Newton, and graduated from Goessel High School in 1946.

She married Willard “Feezer” Regier on Oct. 15, 1948, at Tabor Mennonite. The couple served as as conscientious objectors at a Denver hospital during the Korean War before farming near Goessel.

A member of Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church, she was
proceeded in death by her husband, stillborn son Merle, brother Nicky Schmidt, and sister Rita Sperry.

Survivors include daughter LaNae Unruh of rural Moundridge and sisters Susan Duerksen of Goessel and Delome Schmidt of rural Newton.

A memorial has been established with Aleanderwohl Church.
