Hitting home

To the editor:

County roads have been one of the favorite discussions of the county commissioners.

When we settled in Aulne, we had blacktop roads going all directions out of town. One by one, they were returned to gravel. We were assured we would always have one hard-surface way out.

We realize that the cost is getting higher, but the icing on the cake came during a commission meeting when, one commissioner was quoted as saying, “Well, they don’t have to live out there.”

Just saying!
