Grants to help preschoolers,
senior citizens in Goessel

A total of $3,100 in grants will help pay for meals for senior citizen, an educational enrichment night for preschoolers, education for people in poverty, and free books for young children.

Goessel Community Foundation recently announced gifts of:

  • $1,000 to Bethesda Home to pay a third of the cost of meals provided for free to senior citizens.
  • $1,000 to Goessel schools for early childhood engagement night acquainting parents with educational resources for preschoolers.
  • $500 to Marion County Core Community to help pay for education that can break the cycle of generational poverty.
  • $500 to Dolly Parton Imagination Library to provide appropriate free monthly books to preschoolers.

Awards were presented April 30 at complimentary dinner prepared by Goessel Grocery & Deli. The evening included a skit presented by Matt Lehman Wiens and Matt Voth.
