Free food to be available

Weather permitting, federal food commodities will be distributed to low-income families next week.

In case of inclement weather, distribution will be delayed until the following week.

No commodity distribution is planned for February.

Residents qualify if they have monthly household incomes less than $1,396 plus $492 for each additional household member beyond the first.

To ensure adequate supplies, the Marion County Department on Aging is requesting that residents pick up items only at their community’s distribution location.

Items will be available first come, first served at these locations and times:

JAN. 19

• Burns — morning at Burns Community Center.
• Goessel — 5 p.m. at Goessel church
• Lincolnville — 10:30 to 11 a.m. at Lincolnville Community Center
• Lost Springs — 11 a.m. at Marion Senior Center.
• Marion — 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Marion Senior Center
• Peabody — 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Peabody Senior Center
• Pilsen — 11:30 a.m. at Pilsen Community Center.
• Ramona — morning at Ramona Community Center.
• Tampa — 3 to 4 p.m. at Tampa Senior Center.

JAN. 20

• Florence — 9 to 11 a.m. at Florence Senior Center.

JAN. 22

• Durham, Hillsboro, and Lehigh — 9 a.m. to noon at Hillsboro Main Street Ministries.

After commodities are distributed in Marion, pallets will be available free for the taking at Marion Senior Center.
