Ford to lead Tabor nursing program

New leadership for Tabor College’s Wichita-based nursing program could eventually lead to nursing education options for the Hillsboro campus.

Staci Ford, director of nursing programs for Tabor College Wichita as of April, brings 20 years of experience in nursing and instruction to the position.

Ford earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Central Oklahoma and a master’s degree with a focus in nursing education from University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center. She is working toward a doctorate in education from Concordia University in Portland, Oregon.

Most recently, Ford has been on faculty at Hesston College and served as an adjunct professor for Tabor. Ford has practiced nursing in home health, public health, labor and delivery, and neonatal intensive care.

“We’ve enjoyed having Staci as a valuable part of our adjunct faculty, and this change is an obvious next step for our program,” dean of adult and graduate studies Tom Shaw said.

Ford will oversee nursing curriculum and faculty, as well as maintain Tabor’s accreditation. The college hopes to expand its nursing program to offer more undergraduate options, and Ford will work toward adding curriculum for students at the Hillsboro campus.
