Floyd Schanfeld

Floyd Schanfeld, 94, Hillsboro, died Monday at Newton Medical Center.

A committal service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Haven of Rest Cemetery, Hillsboro.

Born May 30, 1922, to Theo and Clara (Alvin) Schanfeld in Elma, Iowa, he married Edna Winner Sept. 22, 1945, in Nashua, Iowa.

Survivors include his wife, Edna Schanfeld of Hillsboro; daughters, Lila Kemph of Newton and Lee Foley of California; brother, Lloyd Schanfeld of Charles City, Iowa; three grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Memorial gifts are requested for East Side United Methodist Church of Newton.
