Festive weekend planned

Marion’s scaled-down Old Settlers Day, Hillsboro with its monthly Cruise, and Peabody’s annual Fall Festival will highlight a busy weekend in Marion County.

Friday is Peabody American Legion’s first Friday Night Pizzas from 5 to 8 p.m. Pizza can be eaten in or carried out.

Saturday is the Peabody Fall Festival, with vendors and downtown activities from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and “Mystery Unveiling of the Disgusting Plywood” at Sunflower Theater at 10 a.m.

Also Saturday is Old Settlers Day in Marion. Although scaled back this year, the day will feature an assortment of activities for children and adults from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., including treasure and history hunts, business open houses, an ice cream social, and a 6 p.m. parking lot dance at Edwards.

Hillsboro will have a downtown cruise from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday evening.

Sunday is Peabody Sunday Cruise downtown.
