Dolls, slingshots made at open house
The 2019 museum season will begin with an open house at 10 a.m. April 6 at Marion Historical Museum. Light refreshments will be served.
Museum director Teresa Mills is planning two children’s workshops in April.
The first workshop, for ages 6 to 14, will be 1 to 3 p.m. April 13 to make wagon-train dolls. The second will be 1 to 3 p.m. April 20, to make slingshots that use marshmallow ammunition.
Both workshops are limited to 12 participants. Reservations can be made by calling (620) 382-9134.
The museum will be open through October. Regular museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, or by appointment.
