This column accurately reported last week that Leith, Inc. had received approval on July 3, 2006, for a $2,806 grant, the first from a new city economic development program, to build a fence.

David Leith informed the newspaper last week that he had never used the grant.

The grant program was terminated after its second recipient, Up in Smoke tobacco shop, obtained $5,000 to buy tobacco products, then closed a few months later after the products were reported stolen in a burglary.
