Chat and Dine Club finds new life

After the president of Chat and Dine Club at Marion County Park and Lake resigned in October, the club’s future was in doubt.
The November meeting was sparsely attended, and there were no volunteers. No one was interested in taking the lead. As a result, those in attendance set the first meeting in 2017 as a time to decide whether to continue.
That meeting was April 11. Twenty-one people attended.
“We were fortunate to have residents that were interested in continuing the club and willing to volunteer for various duties,” said club treasurer Karen Egts, who was re-elected.
Donna Kaiser and Sharon Williams were elected co-presidents, and Colleen Greenemeyer was re-elected secretary.
The group decided monthly hosts would decide the content of each meeting.
