The annual James Weber Memorial Fishing Derby sponsored by Centre FFA was Saturday at Father Padilla Memorial Park in Herington. Eleven youths ages 6 to 12 competed for prizes.

In the 6-to-9-year-old group, Scott Hinkson caught the biggest fish, 14 inches, and Lacey Hancock caught the most fish, with two.

In the 10-to-12-year-old group, Eli Klenda caught the most fish, three, and biggest, 16 inches.

Centre FFA members who helped included Keegan August, Chase Kitzmiller, Dillon Knepp, Tyler Nickel, Jensen Riffel, Mikey Silhan, and Tanner Stuchlik.

FFA members Julia Brunner, Bradley Alexander, Lili Espinoza, and David Adam attended the South Central District Greenhand Conference in Andale on Sept. 16.
