Vickie and Bill Kaempfe surprised patrons with two cakes July 12 — one chocolate and one with peanut butter frosting.
Volunteers still are needed in the kitchen even though cooking is being done elsewhere. Workers are needed to help with daily preparations and with washing dishes.
The center will celebrate National Day of the Cowboy on July 26. Patrons are being urged to bring bandannas they received last year, to wear cowboy hats and boots, and to bring cowboy poetry to share.
