Merchants along the north side of US-56 in Marion plan a block party from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to celebrate a grand opening and thank customers for their support.

Edward’s Café will have a ribbon cutting at 10:30 a.m.

After that, $4 hamburger and $2 hot dog meals will be sold from 11 a.m. until the food is gone.

Marion County Hardware will celebrate the 95th birthday of the Ace Hardware Co. with birthday cake and sale items.

Silk Salon will have in-store specials from 9 a.m. to noon.

Rhino Car and Truck Wash will offer half-price automatic car washes from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Trace of Copper will have 10% discounts on all items in stock.

Marion County Emergency Medical Services will give free blood pressure checks.

Early trick-or-treating will be part of the celebration, with all businesses participating. Costumes are optional.
