Betty Fruechting

Betty (Lange) Fruechting, 80, died Aug. 6 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.  

She was born Sept. 20, 1935, to Menno and Heddie (Wall) Harder in Hillsboro.  

She married Paul Lange on May 28, 1955, in Hillsboro, who predeceased her in 1997. She married Don Fruechting on March 8, 1999, in Aulne.  

Betty was a special education teacher at Hillsboro Elementary School.  

Survivors include husband, Don Fruechting of Marion; children Byron Lange of Shawnee, Wendy McCarty of Hillsboro, Terry Fruechting of Newton, Kevin Fruechting of Marion, and Mike Fruechting of Andover; brother, Keith Harder of Hillsboro; sister, Bonnie Friesen of Wichita 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Family will receive guests 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jost Funeral Home in Hillsboro.  Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Cemetery, with funeral services at 11 a.m. at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren church.  

Memorials have been established with Volunteers In Missions in lieu of flowers.
