Barbara Ann O’Dell, 79, died Dec. 22 at Newton Medical Center.

A graveside service was Monday at Hillcrest Cemetery, Florence.

She was born Feb. 28, 1936, to John and Margaret Harbison in Cottonwood Falls, and graduated from Clements High School.

She married Delano O’Dell June 5, 1955, in Clements. They lived in Florence for many years, and then in Marion. She was a secretary in banking and for the Marion County Sheriff’s department for 20 years.

She is survived by her husband; children, Michael O’Dell and Dianne Burnett, both of Marion; brothers, Howard Harbison of Muskogee, Oklahoma, and John Harbison Jr. of Florence; sister, Margaret Callen of Salina; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister Deborah, and son, Scott.

A memorial has been established with the Marion County Toy Run.
