The Central Park Antiques building in downtown Marion was appraised Saturday as part of a potential sale that could usher in a new business, The Fam Lee Bakery.
“The store is sold but we haven’t closed on it yet,” Central Park Antiques owner Nadine Iseli said. “It was appraised Saturday. The Lees will be taking the building over the day we close, but Delmar and I haven’t heard the closing date yet.”
The Lee family could not be reached for comment. However, in a previous article, Jeff Lee confirmed that he would be the business’s president should it open.
Lee’s daughters, Jenny Lee and Catie Zurcher, will operate the bakery. The sisters have experience operating Flint Hills Market and Bakery in Florence.
Lee’s son, Ryan, will serve as vice president, and Dawn, Lee’s wife, will serve as treasurer and bookkeeper.
Central Park Antiques has closed and the Iselis are removing the remainder of their inventory.
“It’s almost empty,” Iseli said. “I will miss my customers. But I am looking forward to helping support the Lee family with their new business.”
After the sale, she anticipates spending more time with family.
Iseli also plans to take her morning coffee at Fam Lee Bakery when it opens, but that doesn’t mean the Iselis are calling it quits from a business they have run for nine years.
They already have one merchandise booth set up inside Kessler Kreations in Hillsboro and Iseli plans to have another booth ready to go the first week of July.
“They will be right next to one another,” she said. “I will have antiques and gifts there. I have enough furniture, pressed glass, crystal, linens, candles and other things to stock it for quite a while.”
