Accountant embraces lifetime learning

Despite Angela Lange’s promotion last week to senior staff accountant at Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, she doesn’t see her education as being over.

“I like to keep learning all the time and doing new things,” she said. “That’s probably what helped the most, was not getting stuck in the same position.”

The Marion resident is working heavily in ABBB’s client accounting services, which offers software-based accounting applications.

“That’s the part I really enjoy, learning new software and being able to recommend them to clients,” she said. “I’m showing them ways they can use those to make running their business a lot easier.”

Lange often works from home and usually visits the firm’s McPherson office once a week. Her supervisor is based in Overland Park.

Lange had her associate’s degree when she started doing bookkeeping at the company, but her experiences there helped convince Lange to reach higher.

“I hadn’t really planned on going much further as far as my bachelor’s,” she said. “Working at ABBB, they’re always pushing us to improve ourselves. They tell us all the time we can go anywhere we want in the firm.”
