Both drivers are from rural Lincolnville.

Neither Dittman’s 1998 Buick Park Avenue nor Knepp’s 1991 Dodge D350, owned by Matthew A. Knepp of the same address as its driver, were towed.

Both the semi, owned by Ryder Truck Rental of Miami, Florida, and the extensively damaged sport utility vehicle, owned by Kristine M. Parker of Andover, had to be towed.

No information was released regarding why the SUV had been left in the roadway. Deputy Matthew Regier’s report indicates that initial impact for both vehicles was the front hood, suggesting the SUV may have been in the wrong lane. No citations were issued.
