According to law enforcement reports released Friday:

US-50 east of Upland Rd.

Christopher Mesecher, 26, Newton, was driving a 2008 Dodge Ram truck at 4:57 p.m. Jan. 30 when he noticed smoke coming from the dashboard. Upon opening the hood after pulling onto the shoulder, he discovered a fire. The truck, owned by EX Cat Construction of Newton, was destroyed.

Main and Buller Sts., Goessel

A 2012 Ford Focus driven by Glen Palmer, 56, Goessel, was northbound on Buller St. when Palmer allegedly failed to stop at a stop sign at 8 p.m. Feb. 3 and pulled into the path of a 2006 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Lucinda Hiebert, 49, Inman. The Uplander struck the front right fender and bumper of the Focus. A passenger in the Focus, Janice Palmer, 30, Goessel, was transported by Hillsboro ambulance to Newton Medical Center. Two other passengers were uninjured. Both cars were towed from the scene. Glen Palmer was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

K-15 south of 150th Rd.

A 2011 Dodge Ram truck driven by Kendall Unrau, 56, Lehigh, struck a deer at 5 a.m. Feb. 7. The truck was damaged but driveable.

300 block of N. Ash St.

While pulling into a parking space at Casey’s General Store, Mallory Ediger, 15, Cimarron, allegedly pressed the gas pedal instead of the brake and struck the front of the building in a 2008 Dodge Caravan owned by David Ediger of Cimarron. While no injuries were reported, police said the impact caused damage to the van and the building. A portion of Casey’s front wall was pushed in far enough to cause damage to a lottery ticket machine resting against the interior side of it.
