Residents of Marion and vicinity are invited to take part in the first public observance of Epiphany, or Twelfth night, at 7:30 Saturday evening in the city park.

All who still have their Christmas trees are asked to bring them for this unique ceremony being sponsored by the Kiwanis Club and Marion Ministerial Alliance.

The fire created by these burning trees will form the background for a program of caroling and the recital of the story of the Twelfth Night over a public address system.

Jeanne Carpenter left Tuesday to resume her work at the Katharine Gibbs School in Chicago. Bill Carpenter left Monday by plane for New Haven, Connecticut, where he is a student at Yale University.

Dr. T.C. Ensey moved Tuesday to share the Dr. Goodsheller offices over the Marion National Bank. The doctors announce they will practice individually, sharing only office and equipment.

A large group of young people who were home for the holidays enjoyed a dance at the Country Club last Thursday evening. The Stardusters orchestra provided the music.

An advertisement in this issue offers the popular eating place, Kingfisher’s Inn at the county park and lake, for sale. Mr. and Mrs. George King who built and operated this attractively located restaurant have decided to sell for reasons of health, it is stated.

Misses Anne Burkholder, Pat Brose, Patsy Harris, Donna Hobein, Donna Jean Christensen and Mary Heath and Tim Burkholder, Mahlon Wheeler, Joe Bill Gound, Bud Hannaford, and Kerns Allen were among guests at a party with Allen Poe, Peabody, Saturday evening hosted at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Poe.
