William E. Gayer, 28-year-old truck driver, was today ordered held for murder of loan operator Herbert J. Kindred by county judge Jay E. Hargett. The trial is scheduled for the October term of district court before Judge Jas. P. Coleman.

Marion city commissioners last week placed an order for a new, modern fire truck to augment the city’s fire fighting equipment.

Rep. Ed Rees of Emporia, Congressman from this district, was injured last Thursday afternoon when his car collided with a Santa Fe train at a crossing just east of Lost Springs.

Blue Aces Bohemian Band of Pilsen will put on an interesting hour of entertainment for patrons of the Tri-County 4-H Fair that starts today (Thursday) in Herington.
