Coach Ed Frickey’s team of Warriors, selected to win over Valley Center last Friday by those who know, were defeated 26-0 in a non-league affair. The flu bug may be credited with the victory. Nearly all of the Marion starters were out with the virus.

Mr. and Mrs. Rendel Newsom of Newsom Greenhouse will celebrate their 25th anniversary in the greenhouse business in Marion Nov. 24th by holding an open house.

The three-act comedy, “Paint the Town Pink,” will be presented Nov. 22 in the city auditorium. A novel part of the annual high school senior play will be that some of the faculty will appear in the cast of characters.

A party honoring the birthday of Bryce Ollenberger was held Wednesday evening after school at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Ollenberger. His school friends who were guests included Janice Jantz, Pamela Weigart, Vickie Boese, Jimmy Swann, Gene Hett, Max Rector, and Eddie Cooke.

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. James E. Vogel whose little son, Randal Boyd, was born at St. Luke Hospital Nov. 12, weighing 7 pounds 13 ounces. The Vogels have a daughter, Susan, 6, and another son, Stanley, 5.

A turkey and ham shoot will be held at the Marion Gun Club grounds at the airport this coming Sunday afternoon. There will be squads for all classes of shooters, and for beginners. Prizes will be awarded in each classification.
