Coffee went up to a dime in Marion this week. Other towns did it long ago when the price of coffee was higher than now, but Marion held off as long as possible.

The Knights of Columbus held a coyote hunt Feb. 9 in the Tampa neighborhood with at least 75 hunters taking part. They took five coyotes, and 456 jack rabbits.

Mrs. Henry Klose entertained a group of boys with a circus party Wednesday, Feb. 20, in honor of Garry’s eighth birthday. Guests were Ronnie and Donnie Sloup. Dennis Highsmith, Steven Childs, John Sandwell, Jimmie Magee, Stevie Heinz, Bobby Winchester, Pat Costello, Mike Jantz, Curtis Eckstrom, Bobby Elling, Bruce Kelsey, and Jimmie Ottensmeier.

Barbara Spachek, Lincolnville High School senior, was crowned basketball queen at that school in ceremonies at the Lincolnville-Durham game. She was attended by Patsy Haefner, Mary Ann Sill, Barbara Czarnowsky, and Connie Riffel.

Mr. and Mrs. Roger Morse entertained Saturday evening with a rock and roll party to celebrate Dick’s 13th birthday. Those enjoying the evening were Deanna Klenda, Georgia Helmer, Marsha McCartney, Karen Schroeder, Donna Newsom, Charlotte Langley, Tom Good, Dennis Schroeder, James Robert Meisner, Dick Varenhorst, Gary King, and Dick.
