Mrs. Frances Cumpton is in Chicago this week where she is buying merchandise for her store. She and Mrs. Alta Rains, who assists in the Cumpton store, were in Kansas City over the weekend for the market there.

Earl Magathan, master of Centre Lodge in 1917, was the oldest master present Tuesday night at the annual Past Masters’ banquet of Centre Lodge #147 AF&AM.

Mrs. Gordon Wolf left Monday evening on a trip to Europe where she will visit her daughter and husband, Lt. and Mrs. C.C. Garrison, who are living at Herzogenaurch, West Germany, where he is in the service.

Marion Boy Scouts are taking advantage of the teachers’ meeting this weekend by having a camp-out at the Ferrell Ranch northeast of the city. The boys and their leaders left Wednesday night and will return Sunday.

A photographic display of various types and styles of modern swimming pools is on display this week in the windows of Studio Moderne. Residents will vote Tuesday on a special question of approving a bond issue to construct a municipal pool in Marion. Several builders have sent the photographs so residents can see attractive pools being built in the area.

Jim Christensen had four touchdowns and a pass from him to Bledsoe was good for another at Hope Friday night. Jerry Kline made another touchdown and John Minear added five extra points for a 41-21 win.
