During the next few weeks, an intensive campaign directed to citizens of Marion, and especially to Marion businessmen and women, will be conducted by the industrial committee of the Chamber of Commerce. The campaign is a drive to promote industrial expansion.
The long awaited “open house” of the all-new Hassinger Plumbing and Heating headquarters on Main Street will be held next Tuesday and Wednesday. Door prizes and refreshments are offered.
Mrs. Edna Firebaugh, Chicago, Illinois, entertained with a dinner at Kingfisher’s Inn Friday evening in honor of her brother C.R. Moulton and his fiancée Carol Jean Schambron, whose wedding occurred Sunday.
Gailen Broadstreet, 13, is pictured with a 6¾-pound channel catfish he caught at the Marion County Lake last week with a spinning rod and reel. Fishing with him at the time were Larry Evans, Gailen’s grandfather Leo Broadstreet, and Henry Sharrai.
Jack Adams, who is employed at the Home Oil station on East Main, was the victim of an accident Thursday afternoon. As he loosened the radiator cap on a customer’s car, it blew off, loosening steam and spraying Jack on the forehead. As he ducked and turned, it also sprayed him on the back. He was treated of burns at St. Luke and remained overnight.
