A meeting of Tampa High School District was held Monday with 140 patrons in attendance. It was voted to continue “as is” and not go into the proposed Lincolnville, Lost Springs, Burdick, and Ramona district being organized.

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Broadstreet’s Moderne Studio submitted pieces of their work at the annual convention of Professional Photographers Association this week at Wichita. The print of the two children of Mr. and Mrs. Jack Helmer, Shirley and Kendall, won the gold cup prize in the group class.

Albert Stenzel, well known and liked Marion man, announced this week the opening of his minor repair shop at his home at 301 South Freeborn. He plans to work on vacuum cleaners, sewing machines, bicycles, small appliances, lawn mowers, and other such items.

Guy Childs, manager of the Kaw Theatre, has extended an invitation to all high schools in the county to a special showing of the picture, “Ulysses,” at 2 p.m. April 4. Leading educators have acclaimed “Ulysses” as a magnificent presentation and valuable teaching aid.

Mr. and Mrs. Ezra Vogel and Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Whiteman, Wichita, spent several days last week visiting Cpl. and Mrs. Vernon Vogel in El Paso, Texas. Vernon was recently chosen soldier of the month for the 526th Guided Missile Battalion.
