Judy Pankratz, Marion High’s Homecoming Queen for 1965, was crowned at halftime ceremonies Friday. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pankratz. Judy’s attendants were Toni McElwain and Pat Warneke. The three girls were escorted by George Jackson, Blair Post, and Dennis Conyers. Judy was crowned by last year’s queen, Neva Kelsey.

Lowell Ensey, son of Dr. and Mrs. T.C. Ensey has been elected president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Westmar College. Westmar is an affiliate of the Evangelical United Brethren Church.

The 45-member Tabor College choir, directed by Dr. Paul Wohlgemuth, presented a 30-minute concert last Friday on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. Congressman Garner E. Shriver arranged the Washington appearance for the choir.

The annual Farm-City banquet, sponsored by the Marion Chamber of Commerce, will be held Nov. 4.

Main event on the evening’s entertainment will be a full presentation of the home talent production “Yankee Doodle Jamboree” directed by Jean Holmes with a cast of a large group of local men and women.

Six Marion FFA officers, Don Kraus, Chuck Bredemeier, Ronnie Kreutziger, Kenny Seifert, Chuck Seifert, and Jerry Nelson, were in Kansas City Oct. 13 attending the 38th National FFA Convention.

One of the highlights was seeing Steve Krispense of Marion, along with 393 national FFA members, receive the American Farmer degree.
