Viola Jost, county superintendent, is urging all eligible voters to vote June 2 on the proposed school unification plan. A map showing the four districts proposed by the planning board will be posted at each voting center.

Mrs. Edson (Naomi) Childs of the Marion County Selective Service office, was cited last week at the state Selective Service Clerk’s Conference at Topeka as “Clerk of the Year” in the state.

Three Marion High School students were especially honored this year for general excellence during their high school careers.

Max Jackson Jr. not only holds the highest scholastic record, but also is an outstanding athlete in three sports, a musician, and excels in all fields of endeavor.

Ruby Winkley followed closely in scholarship and took important parts in a wide range of school activities.

Donna Hanschu received the coveted Balfour Award that is given each year designating all-around excellence in all phases of school activities and in general citizenship.

John Christensen, director of the summer recreation program is urging all boys and girls of the community to join in the fun this summer.
