Charles Frans of Marion has been hired by the city to replace Jake Hein as the municipal building and park custodian. Frans has been employed at Marion Reservoir recently, and prior to that was a Marion policeman.

Winners in the Christmas drawing for children’s prizes last Thursday night were as follows: Scott McGranor, football helmet; Patrice Ewert, Teddy bear; Rick Laudner and Debra Sue Adams each won transistor radios. There were no winners in the adult cash drawing.

Dear Santa Claus: I am a little girl five years old. For Christmas I would like a lucky locket, Kiddle set, Mr. Ed, the talking horse, a Barbie doll, a Raggedy Ann pajama bag, a walking doll on roller skates, and a ballerina doll dress. My brother wants a typewriter. Will be looking for you. Julie Ann Hett.

Winners in the drawing at the Congers Flowers open house were Mrs. K.C. Wingerd, Norfolk pine plant; Mrs. A.L Kirchner, poinsettia plant; Debbie Hett, door swag; Mrs. Glenn Kline, centerpiece; Mrs. Steve Jost, candle; and Mrs. John Markham, holly bowl.

Mr. and Mrs. A J. Heidebrecht will observe their 50th wedding anniversary Dec. 17. In honor of the occasion, they were guests of the employees of Al and Art’s Quality Food Market the evening of Dec. 4 at a dinner at Betty’s Restaurant in Hillsboro.
