Dirty waters doused the downtown business area and valley residences Wednesday following nearly eight inches of rainfall during the past few days. Most people figure that the dam at Marion Reservoir saved the town from more serious damage and that the proposed dike and ditch would have saved Marion from flooding at all if it had been completed.

Some of the meat items Al and Art’s Quality Food Market advertises in this week’s newspaper include Fanestil smoked, cured picnic ham, 39 cents per pound; OhSe all meat wieners, 49 cents per pound; Armour bacon, 12 ounce pkg., 59 cents; and home style smoked sausage, pound 69 cents.

Wes Just attended a custodial trade school at McPherson last Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
