This Saturday will be a big and enjoyable day in Marion. It’s an annual spring activity combining a number of very special attractions, and everyone is invited to attend. The day will include the showing of special spring merchandise in many of the stores, bargain “sidewalk sales,” farm machinery show, beef show, and a beef barbecue.

Students at Bown-Corby school will present “Swing Into Spring” Friday at the annual May Fete. Queen of May will be Sherri Moore, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Vernon Moore. Her consort is Timmie Zerger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Reuben Zerger. Among other forms of creation is Mr. Frog (Terry Smith) who goes a courtin’ Miss Mouse (Lori Schmidtberger).

A large group of second graders from Hope, their mothers, and teacher Irene Albrecht spent Wednesday in Marion where they visited the courthouse and other places of interest with a final stop at the Dairy Queen.

Miss Phyllis Nadine Stenzel and Ralph Duane Kreutziger exchanged wedding vows in the candlelit sanctuary of the Marion Evangelical United Brethren Church at seven o’clock the evening of April 15.

Frances Stayton, Marion, received $150 at Wednesday afternoon’s Cash Days drawing. Henry Klein received $10; Roger Giesbrecht, $15; and Mrs. Elmer Leppke, $5.
