Neil Flint Worden arrived Friday to become St. Luke Hospital’s first baby of 1967. The Rev. and Mrs. Winston Worden, of the Marion Christian Church, welcome the newcomer who weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces when he checked in at 2:37 p.m. Jan. 6.

The Marion Mashers, top semi-pro team of the area, will perform on the hardwoods at the Marion Loudhouse (gym) tonight, Thursday, in a game with Marion “Old Stars,” a team made up of Marion businessmen. The “oldsters” team is composed of such stalwarts of the court as Max Jackson, Earl Wood, Roger Hannaford, Gerald Higgins, Jack Beaston, Alex Case, Dave Hanson, Matthew Classen, Keith Conyers, and John Brose.

Contracts have been offered to all four administrators in the Marion school system. They are Superintendent Jack M. Applegate; Jim Weinmann, high school principal; Eugene Enos, elementary school principal, and Maude Thompson, primary principal.

Two Marion students are teaching as part of their secondary education at KSTC, Emporia. Ruth Arlene Lais, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Lais, is teaching business education at Hutchinson High School. Helen Louise Olsen is teaching business education at Wichita High School West. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl F. Olsen.
