Nearly 200 Polled Hereford breeders and interested spectators enjoyed a tour Friday morning that took them to four stops in Marion County — the Cecil Medley ranch, Omer Shields place, Ezra Bernhardt farm, and the new farm facilities of Bob Ehrlich.

Al Holder, 87, who had been barbering in Marion for more than 70 years died unexpectedly at his home Wednesday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Scharenberg of Florence announce the engagement of their daughter, Millcine, to Jerry Lee Siebert of Marion, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Siebert. No wedding date has been set.

Special awards were given this year to two boys in each baseball league as “most valuable player. Kim Young was most valuable player in the Pee Wee league and Billy Newlin in the Midget league. Top batters also received special awards. Jerry Conyers had the top average in the Pee Wee league, 7.69, and Steve Behrendt in the Midgets, 800. The awards were presented Saturday night by Lowell Ensey, director of the summer youth program.

Blue ribbon winners in the Senior Division of the Tri-County Fair Style Revue include Sue Henke, Sandy Wasemiller, Mary Schubert, and Myrna Klinkerman of Marion County. Melanie Hett and Mary Fenske are blue ribbon winners in the Junior Division. Champion and reserve champions will be announced this Friday night.
