Alex Mehlinger, manager of Seymour Foods Company plant in Marion, reports the company has advised him of a change in their operations here at the Marion plant. After Aug. 1, they will discontinue all other types of business here and concentrate only on egg buying.

Fifteen teenage hospital volunteers known as Candy Stripers were presented with pink and white striped uniforms last Friday at St. Luke Hospital. Pictured Candy Stripers are Becky Coe, Jan VanBuren, Connie Thompson, Maurita Dienes, Joyce Ford, Roxanne Zerger, Tammy Case, Shelly Hett, Linda Oldham, Nancy Olsen, Jan Herrick, Joyce Maltbie, Janice Jantz, and Rita Hein.

Richard D. Siebert of Marion is one of 33 men who have been accepted as trainees into the Kansas Highway Patrol. They will report July 25 to the training center in Salina.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank Tajchman announce the engagement of their daughter, Virginia, to Roman Albert Jr. of Wichita. A September 10th wedding is planned.

Dave Greenemeyer, who owned and operated the Marion Bakery for over 40 years, is in charge of it again. Mr. Greenemeyer purchased the business on Monday of this week from Dale Martin, who had been operating it for the past three years. Greenemeyer states he will operate it “just like always.”
