Gerry Harris of Marion Motor Center, Ford-Mercury dealer in Marion, this week announced that he has purchased the interest of J.B. Noll in the local agency. The men have been partners in the dealership the past year. Mr. Noll also is the Ford dealer at Florence and will now devote full-time to his interests there.
Red Cross swim directors at the Marion Municipal Pool this year are Tammy Case, Helen Jackson, Judy Pankratz, Jackie Thomas, Barbara Hunt, Kay Applegate, Linda Bauman, Bev Elling, Susan Yeagley, Linda Oldham, and Janice Jantz. Mary Konarik is this year’s program coordinator.
From all indications this week it appears that LaVonda Hett, Marion High graduate of this spring, is being groomed and prepared for a place among the top fashion models in the nation’s fashion center, New York.
Rose Marie Loveless, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry F. Loveless of Marion, is pictured being sworn into the Navy’s Officer Candidate School at Newport, Rhode Island, by Lt. Marcia Goes.
Gary Melcher and Doug Kelsey participated in an “All Comers” track meet June 25 in Wichita. Gary set a new record in the javelin with a throw of 133’ 10”. He also won his division of the shot put with a toss of 55’ 8¾”. Doug took third place in the broad jump with a jump of 17” 10”. Four boys, Charles Pankratz, Gary Melcher, Doug Kelsey, and Jim Richmond will participate July 16 in another “All Comers” meet at Wichita.
