A large concrete mixing plant, with a capacity of about 600 cubic yards of concrete each 8-hour day is about ready to go into operation at the Marion Dam site. The plant was moved to Marion from the Elk City dam and reservoir.

MHS seniors will present “Deep are the Roots,” Friday evening at the city building. The theme dwells on racial toleration. George Jackson plays the part of a World War II lieutenant while Darold Longhofer is an elderly Southern senator. The senator’s daughters are Judy Pankratz and LaVonda Hett. Rod Oelschlager plays a Northern writer.

Mr. and Mrs. Leo Jirak of rural Tampa will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary Nov. 20 with an open house at Holy Redeemer parish hall.

John E. Loveless, son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Loveless, Lincolnville, and James W. Mueller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Werner Mueller, Tampa, enlisted in the Navy Oct. 25.

Mr. and Mrs. Cyrus Goertz honored senior football boys with a steak supper at their home Nov. 11. Those present were George Jackson, Bob Good, Bob Hoch, Norman Bowers, Ladd Siebert, Blair Post, Norman and Bryan Alexander, Dennis Conyers, and Dave Goertz.

A group of Knights of Columbus members and their sons met at the Albert Klenda farm Saturday evening for a possum hunt. Coffee and hot dogs were served to the hungry group after the hunt.
