The annual Farm-City banquet has grown in importance and popularity with each succeeding year and is being given even more ambitious planning for this year’s event. Main event of the evening’s entertainment will be a presentation of the home talent production, “Yankee Doodle Jamboree” directed by Jean Holmes with a cast of a large group of local men and women.

Marion High’s homecoming queen for 1965 was crowned at halftime ceremonies last Friday. She is Judy Pankratz, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Pankratz. Attendants are Toni McElwain, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bob McElwain, and Pat Warneke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harlow Warneke.

Lowell Ensey, son of Dr. and Mrs. T.C. Ensey, has been elected president of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of Westmar College.

Coach LeRoy Dreier has listed his top 15 tacklers of the season to date. Dennis Knoblock leads with 44, followed by Bryan Alexander 29, Frans 26, Hoch 25, Harlan 24, Sandwell 23, Post 21, Pankratz 19, Norman Alexander 17, Elling 16, Applegate 13, Loney 13, Highsmith 11, Goertz 11, and Jackson 10.

Mrs. Tommy Thompson, Mrs. James Fruechting, and Mrs. J.B. Miesse were hostesses at a miscellaneous shower for Miss Norma Sly Oct. 12 at the home of Mrs. Thompson.
