The ambulances based in Marion and Hillsboro and operated by Marion County made 17 runs during July, according to Max Gough, director

Dee and Michael Schaeffer returned to Marion last week to visit some of the many people with whom they became friends when they were hospitalized at St. Luke Hospital more than two years ago.

The Schaeffers were involved in an auto accident April 1, 1975, on a snowy road near Lincolnville. Michael spent two weeks in St. Luke and Dee spent 3½ months as a patient there before being flown by medical airplane to their hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Barbara Longhofer will become administrator of Mid-America Nursing Center of Marion on Sept. 1. She will replace Roberta Childers, who has resigned.

Bud Pierce and a team of square dancers will put on an exhibition for the elderly Friday at the Hilltop Manor recreation center. Pierce will call the dance.
