A weekend of memory, reflection, and centennial celebration is in store for members of Marion Christian Church and anyone interested in attending any of the 100th anniversary events. The weekend commemorates the church’s 100 years in Marion.

Ensign Daniel Holub, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Holub of Marion, has been awarded the Navy Achievement Medal for “superior performance” while attached to Attack Squadron 94 aboard the USS Coral Seal

Golden wedding celebrations announced in this issue are those of Mr. and Mrs. Godfrey Jirak of Marion and Mr. and Mrs. William Schwartzman of Tampa.

The Florence Wildcats girls’ volleyball team closed out an outstanding fall campaign Thursday night by defeating Herington 2-1. They went undefeated this season, sporting a record of 6-0.
