It didn’t take long to come up with a winner in the 1982 Marion County Record annual first baby contest. Carla Glenn of Peabody gave birth to 5-pound 11-ounce Kelsie Shawn at 1:26 pm. Sunday at St. Luke Hospital

Don W. Hodson, M.D., a young family practice physician, has announced he will move to Marion in June after completing a three-year residency program at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.

Alice Hockensmith of Florence has been appointed to the Marion County Family Life Education Committee. A senior at Marion High School, Hockensmith is the first high school student to serve on the committee. The school is supporting Hockensmith’s involvement by allowing her to attend the meetings during school hours.

Engagements announced in this issue are those of Ronda Kaye Sommer and Leroy John Kraus, Carol Lynn Engel and Thomas V. Poppe, Ann Bryant and Pat Carr, Laurie Layman and Scott Miesse, and Beth Madsen Becker and Dean Hein.
